Service Contracts For Your Heating System: Why You Need One!

Posted by Bonnie Bornstein Fertel on Sat, Oct 20, 2012 @ 01:39 AM

Bornstein Sons provides NJ Heating service contracts.Did you ever need a costly repair on your heating system? Have you had boiler troubles? Woke up with no heat - your furnace didn't work, and (ugh) you needed to call a contractor to repair it? Gee, how much will that cost?

Service Contracts for your heating (and air conditioning system) are not brand new. And while many hundreds or thousands of people have opted to purchase this level of coverage, there are still consumers that may not be convinced.

There are laws that mandate we purchase auto insurance, and laws that have been passed about health insurance and the necessity of purchasing coverage. In an ever-changing world, many feel that perhaps we may be over-insured (Of course, that's until they have a situation that warrants it and then, we'll...they're sorry if they haven't set coverage in place.), while others that are true believers of Murphy's Law (if anything can go wrong, it will) and think that insurance is the best thing since sliced bread protecting you and your family from unexpected costs and problems.

That being said, everyone has suffered a repair and the resulting financial expense of it.
Here are some scenarios that might just make sense to you:

Your Service Problem

No Service Contract

With a Comprehensive
Service Contract

You wake up early one morning, on a cold winter day only to find that you can see  your breath! UH-OH! You call your local heating contractor to arrange for service.

"Sorry, we are swamped today, it's bitter cold and our schedule is over-loaded, I'll try to fit you in."

With a service contract you go to the front of the line, and get priority service.

You didn't remember to call for your annual heating tune-up service, and now, with company coming for dinner, at 500pm, you hear a loud squealing noise when the furnace kicks on. You call a heating service company and are told:

"Let me see what I can do, our techs have finished for the day."

Your annual tune-up is automatically scheduled. When you need service, you're told: No problem, we'll have one of our techs out to you as quickly as possible.

It's a weekend, and you have no heat.

The service dispatcher quotes you overtime pricing and says he'll try to get someone over to you and get back to you soon.

Service Contract customers are guaranteed
service, which is included under the terms of a comprehensive plan, and there are no overtime charge.

If any of these situations sound familiar....

Maybe, it's time to consider a
Service Contract

Simply stated, the time to consider a service contract is before you need it. No different than any other type of protection, you can't look for it after the need is present. Once the 'horse' is out of the 'barn', you're staring into the face of costly repairs or worse, difficulty in getting your service needs taken care of right away.

Of course, a professional contractor should always be able to service you, but sometimes you have to wait your turn, particularly on those days when the temperatures dip below the freezing level and it seems like everyone needs service at that very moment.

Something to think about...so, contact your local heating contractor about a Service Contract today. Alternatively, there are other discount HVAC plans with benefits that may better suit your needs.

Stay warm!
